Taught by Sharon Em. When you sign-up for a course, you get free entry to our Friday shows and our Sunday workshops. That's a savings of €30 per week! If we do not have enough sign-ups a week before class starts, we will have to cancel and refund those who have already signed up.*** This is a weekend comedy course for those of you new to stand-up. The course is a nice way to get the confidence to step on stage, develop a few minutes of material and learn techniques that will help you create and write your own set. All in a supportive and warm environment where you will gain new skills and make funny friends in the process. The teacher is Sharon Em, well know Irish comedian based in NL and experienced stand-up teacher with easylaughs. She will teach you straightforward and easy to apply tricks and techniques that you can use to develop in class material but more importantly, apply after the course has ended. This course is also a fun way to increase your confidence public speaking or just have a stand-up comedy taster! Any skills you gain can be applied to all forms of public speaking – from giving a work presentation to best mans speech at a wedding! The course will be taught over 12 hours over one weekend. There will be a homework assignment for Saturday night. You do not need to bring material with you – we will develop material from scratch on day one. At the end of the course, you will have a few minutes of a set that you can take to an open mic, understand the basics of performance and have a toolkit of techniques and tricks that will inform your writing going forward. Warning: You may get bit by the stand-up bug and sign-up for the 8-week beginner course!! It includes a graduation show where you perform 5 minutes of your material!
